6×6 FESTIVAL: Berlin's Revolutionary Queer-BIPOC Playspace Faces Threat of Cancellation
BERLIN, MAY 16–18, 2025 – The 6×6 Festival, set to debut in Berlin as the world’s first queer-BIPOC overnight playspace integrating radical childcare, abolitionist practice, and anti-racist action, faces sudden threats of cancellation from its host venue, Projektraum H48 in Neukölln. This groundbreaking event is designed explicitly to transform queer community spaces—pioneering inclusive, intersectional nightlife that centers marginalized identities.
ABOUT 6×6
6×6 reclaims the night (6 pm–6 am) as a radically safe, liberatory zone for queer Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), and their allies. Featuring:
Decolonial Playspaces: Celebrating kink-positive, body-affirming exploration with consent-driven workshops and performances.
Radical Childcare: Groundbreaking onsite childcare embedding anti-racist and queer-affirming principles.
Transformative Justice & Community Care: Workshops and dialogues replacing punitive frameworks with abolitionist alternatives.
Ancestral Remembrance Rituals: Spiritual practices and artistic performances that honor diasporic lineages and ancestral resistance.
Radio Calypso Live Broadcasts: A nomadic media hub documenting real-time narratives and collective empowerment.
URGENT CALL FOR SUPPORT
Due to institutional pushback rooted in structural racism and queerphobia, 6×6 urgently seeks community and media solidarity. The potential cancellation of this historic event denies essential space for marginalized queer and trans communities to thrive safely and joyously.
Dates: May 16–18, 2025 (overnight events*)
Venues: Projektraum H48, 90MIL, OYA BAR, CASINOOOO, Ivallan's Bookstore #translivesmatter Berlin (and streaming online)
